​Where does class take place?

Class will take place at a New York City studio.  Past locations include Ripley, Pearl, Shetler and Champion.

How do I pay?

I accept cash, check and paypal, venmo - due in full on the first day of class.

I'm in the Intro class and I have a super important audition.  Can I miss class?

First of all, congratulations.  Book it!  The Intro class is cumulative, so when you miss class, you will be a week behind your classmates.  This isn't fair to anyone, so​ I ask that you book a studio with a piano and schedule a one on one tutoring session with me before the next class so you can be caught up.  I offer ​these tutoring sessions at a reduced rate of $45.  If you must miss class, you can only use this makeup offer once during the 5 weeks. ​​

I hear there's homework for the Intro class. I don't like homework.  Do I really have to do homework?​

​Yes.  Just like anything in life, you will only improve if you practice.  The more you put into it, the more you will get out of it.  I can promise you that you will have all the tools you need to successfully read music in our 5 weeks together.  I can't promise that you will be sight singing and ready to perform an  entire Sondheim score in 20 minutes.  I encourage you to be patient with the journey.  Your success as a master sight reader/music theorist is in your hands, which is a wonderfully empowering thought.

But Liz, I do my homework but I just don't get it.  What can I do?​

Many students have wanted to address questions privately or continue their studies concentrating on piano proficiency or further sight singing outside of a class setting. I offer one on one sessions for $60 an hour. I ask that you book a studio space with a piano.  I also offer coachings out of my studio in Williamsburg off the Lorimer L stop.  You can come to me if you don't want to book a space.  ​
